McIntyre Ski Area - Fakten Skigebiet

Since its opening in 1971 Manchester's "backyard" ski area has taught thousands of people from southeastern New Hampshire and adjacent Massachusetts how to ski or snowboard. An enthusiastic group of experienced instructors, a fun-first atmosphere, a number of different programs and packages, and a friendly environment team up to propel many a neophyte into a lifelong love of winter sport. Areas like McIntyre are important to the future of the industry, and there's little doubt that McIntyre first-timers who get hooked on the sport eventually find themselves further north in the state at bigger mountains. That's all right; McIntyre doesn't pretend to be a big mountain experience, nor does it want to be. But it still offers up plenty of fun. Not all who go there need or want lessons - they just want to play. McIntyre obliges with tubing, a terrain park, two double chairs, two surface lifts, night hours and flexible ticket options. If you do want lessons you have a number of choices. The unique Mom/Tot Program introduces 3-year olds with motivation to learn to skiing, using a parent to assist the instructor in the learning process. The Little Macs Program is designed for 4- to 6-year olds, and is designed around a weekly theme. Adults have their own learn to ski or snowboard programs, and there's a learn to race program for intermediate to advanced level skiers. The latter features video analysis and training both on and off snow. As you might imagine, McIntyre is a busy place when a full slate of lessons is going and the hill is filled with kids out of school for the day or families out for an evening's recreation. Keeping the snow in shape is a top priority and McIntyre makes it whenever possible and grooms it as needed. Their typical season runs from Christmas vacation to mid or late March.
